Robert Smithson’s Influence

The UMFA’s latest exhibition, The Smithson Effect, explores artist Robert Smithson’s lasting influence on contemporary artists. Smithson is perhaps best know for his monumental earthwork, Spiral Jetty, located in a remote part of the Great Salt Lake, and many of the works in The Smithson Effect do address the importance of Spiral Jetty.
