Don’t miss the next concert in the Chamber Music Series on April 11th at 7 pm in the UMFA galleries with the University of Utah Chamber Percussion Group and HYPE (Honors Youth Percussion Ensemble). The concert will include a variety of contemporary and classical works, all played on marimbas. The Chamber Music Series is intentionally staged in the museum galleries to allow attendees to explore connections between the music being performed and the artwork on display.
I am a bit of a musical dunce, and I will admit to not actually knowing what a marimba was until a few months ago. Maybe you are like me and need a bit of help:
