The Slow Movement Comes to the Art World

visitors viewing artJoin us on April 16, 2011 for the 3rd annual Slow Art Day  – an international celebration designed to leave you “inspired not tired.”

Slow Art Day encourages visitors to view a few pieces of art for 5 to 10 minutes and then gather together with other participants to discuss their experience over lunch. In just three years Slow Art Day has grown into a world wide celebration with Slow Art Events on every continent (yes, even Antarctica). See www.slowartday.com for more details about the history of Slow Art Day and a list of locations for 2011.

To participate at the UMFA’s Slow Art Day Event, you can register via the Slow Art Day website or call us at 801-581-3580. The event will run from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday April 16, and you must register before 5 pm on Monday April 11 to participate in the lunch portion of Slow Art Day. Museum admission is free on April 16. Lunch cost is $10.
